Preferably used as an activator in acid resistant compounds. It considerably reduces the swelling of vulcanizates in water; is suitable as an oxidizing agent for the vulcanization of butyl rubber with p-quinone dioxime; can be used to improve the heat resistance in peroxide cured CPE compounds; is not recommended for use in thiadiazole cured CPE; filler in compounds for protective covering, because of the high absorption capacity to x-rays.
